Computer Simulated Smile Enhancements Through the magic of a special dental software program (video imaging), we are able to provide for our patients a computer simulation of how your smile might appear after the completion of treatment. We call this a "try it before you buy it" technique. All we need to do is take a photograph of your smiling face with our digital camera, download it into our computer and we are ready to create. Changes might include crowns, porcelain veneers, bonding, bridges, whitening , implants, or a complete full mouth rehabilitation. By viewing your new smile with the recommended cosmetic changes, you can determine if this altered image looks right with your face. Although the computer simulation is not a guarantee of completed treatment, it does give an excellent indication as to how these cosmetic changes will effect your appearance. By seeing your smile completed through computer simulation prior to starting cosmetic transformation, you can make an informed decision as to whether or not to proceed with a proposed treatment. You will have a secure knowledge of what to expect, rather than just hoping that everything will turn out OK. Intraoral Cameras
To evaluate your cosmetic needs, we can also freeze a close-up of your smile on the monitor. This will allow you to see yourself as others see you, and together we can carefully determine if any cosmetic improvements are in order. Upon request, any image captured on the monitor can be printed out so that you may take a copy home to share with you friends or family members. | ||||||||||||||||||||
With intraoral cameras, we are able to
perform a video tour of your mouth. The video is viewed on a 20"
overhead monitor so that you can experience the tour at the same time
the doctor or the hygienist observes it. With this technology, we
can zoom in on problem spots and freeze them on the monitor. The tooth
of concern can be magnified up to thirty times its size. By seeing
a tooth enlarged to this dimension, we can detect pathology that we
would have overlooked through conventional techniques. Because the
camera also has its own light source, we are able to see into those
dark corners of the mouth which in the past were only visible through
weak reflective light. All in all, you will be getting the most thorough
oral examination you have ever experienced.
