Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, act as supports for fixed bridges, fully replace a removable partial or full denture, or help to stabilize poorly fitting dentures. In the patient pictured, she was congenitally missing three of her upper anterior teeth. After the completion of orthodontic treatment to properly align her remaining front teeth and create sufficient space for implants, the cosmetic reconstruction began. Three implants were placed (as seen in the "during" photo) in perfect position. Porcelain fused to gold crowns were placed into the implants, now acting as artificial roots. The remaining anterior teeth were properly proportioned by use of very durable and natural porcelain veneers. The final result: a shy teenager formally hiding her smile behind taut lips, now a lovely young lady broadly smiling with confidence and pride.
