Tooth whitening can lighten your teeth by removing stains caused by coffee, tea, tobacco, or yellowing due to aging. The procedure has been found to be more effective on brown and yellow stains than it has on gray stains such as those associated with Tetracycline. This patient chose to whiten her upper teeth only, because when she naturally smiles, the lower arch is not visible. In this photograph, however, we asked her to expose her unbleached lower teeth to demonstrate the contrast to her beautiful upper teeth. Drastic results such as this are typically achieved within a two week period of at-home bleaching with a soft , thin, customized tray.
